DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASOUNDS

This is a first trimester ultrasound to establish dating and viability of the pregnancy.  This ultrasound evaluates the location of the pregnancy, the number of embryos, and fetal heart rate. We will also assess the ovaries/adnexae. This ultrasound requires a full bladder. Imaging will be performed transabdominally (on top of the belly).  If transvaginal imaging is required, $75 will be added. 

 This is a genetic screening ultrasound that measures the Nuchal Translucency, a fluid filled space at the back of the baby's neck.  This ultrasound can only be performed between 11 weeks and 13 weeks 6 days, with a preferred gestational age of 12-13 weeks.  We will also evaluate limited first trimester anatomy on the baby.  Your provider will direct you to have blood work drawn to correlate with the ultrasound to calculate your genetic screening results.

 This is a detailed ultrasound that assesses the growth and anatomy of the baby, including the heart, brain, limbs, and major organs.  The placenta location, umbilical cord, and cervix is also evaluated.  Gender is documented and will be disclosed, if desired. This ultrasound is best performed around 19-21 weeks.

 This is an ultrasound to evaluate the growth of the baby.  It is generally performed in the 3rd trimester.  We will measure the head, abdomen, and femur to calculate an estimated fetal weight.  We will also image the baby's stomach, kidneys, bladder, and heart and measure the amniotic fluid around the baby.

This is an ultrasound performed in the 3rd trimester that evaluates the well-being of the baby.  We will look at baby's movement and tone, assess for practice breathing, and measure the amniotic fluid.  A baby must demonstrate all of these within a 30 minute time period.

$50 additional for Umbilical cord dopplers 

This ultrasound is a follow up assessment or limited assessment during pregnancy.  We may need to do a follow up to evaluate viability in early pregnancy,  complete an anatomy survey, or check fetal position late in the pregnancy.

 Transabdominal and Transvaginal imaging will allow us to evaluate the pelvic structures, including the uterus and ovaries.  We will measure and evaluate normal structures and document any additional findings, such as fibroids or ovarian cysts.  3D render of the uterus will be performed to ensure normal uterine cavity.  3D assessment is best for evaluating IUD location!

If only transabdominal imaging is desired, the cost is $175. 

Follicle screening ultrasounds are performed when preparing for IVF.  For follicle screening, we will measure the growing follicles on each ovary and document any abnormal findings.  We will also evaluate and measure the lining of the uterus.  The images and worksheet can be sent directly back to the infertility clinic that you are working with.
